Dasher, Dancer, Sparkle.... Glitter and Bling

There is no shortage of sparkle at Upmarket Nails - if you manage to get out with plain nails - you deserve a pat on your back!.  A little bonus this week you may receive a frighteningly fabulous frosty fancy or mince pie!

There is something funny about someone who arrives for their appointment wanting plain pale pink, who then leaves an hour and a half later with bright Christmas red and a substantial amount of bling!!!

Christmas? Bah Humbug Avril! Baubles are in position!

I really hate Christmas me, Av said to Miraed, and I really hate doing Christmas nail art, Avril continued.  

The irony was not lost on the fact it was still November when Miraed came in, and her Christmas nail appointment was in fact another three weeks away, at least one week before Christmas!

Whilst looking in Rose’s nail art drawer (whilst she was out), Av spotted some sparkly stars….

Lightbulb moment – "I’ll use those on Miread (who incidentally had no say in the matter)”!  

Not content with having to do the ordering, the tax, the banking and publicity, Rose is now looking for snowflakes so that Av can do one less job, that of learning how to paint them!

Whilst Rose is away, Avril will play....

It all started really well. Our 10 new Alessandro colours arrived along with 10 new glitters. Not satisfied with 250 + gel polish colours that we have adorning our bijou nail salon Avril positively HAD to paint up the colour sticks immediately in readiness to be used on the very next client to walk through the Upmarket Nails threshold. 

Regular clients to our salon will not be surprised to see the "more haste less speed" outcome of this desk. There are also no prizes for guessing that this desk could only belong to Avril.

All tidy now! Colour stix neatly painted (well sort of) in a clean and tidy manner..... ready to be shown to our clients. They are all different to the other 250 colours in our collection. We really did need them.  Honest! 

As to the glitters, don't get me started. The Internet isn't big enough!

The fact that our gel polish nails last between 2 to 4 weeks means you can be wearing the bling throughout the whole party season, so there is no need to leave it until the last minute for your appointment.

Gel polish saves finger...... Honest!

One of our clients accidentally trapped her finger in her car door - apparently the nurse practitioner said she was very lucky as without the gel polish, she could have lost her finger!

If you needed a reason to justify getting your nails done...... this is it!

As we all know, Avril just LOVES (not) striping tape.... so when she volunteers to put this on nails, it's best to go with it!

Loretta was that lucky recipient today..... and Av was so chuffed, she sent me a photo of her desk..... because even she felt it may be a bit cluttered!

Cake and Company

We marked our first birthday on 12th October by finishing early (well, an hour later than we intended due to us talking too much), grabbing a quick bite to eat, cleaning the salon then tah dah, first guests arrived!

We spent a lovely 3 hours chatting, laughing and generally having a great time with some of our lovely clients.

Thank you to everyone for coming along, for the many cards and gifts, the wine, champagne, flowers and candles! We had such a good afternoon - it was time well spent sitting with clients and enjoying the time socially.

In the evening, we celebrated at our favourite local restaurant The Palmichael, where the celebrations continued.
